Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit

I finished playing through Fahrenheit (PC) a week or so ago, and i enjoyed it very much. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's kind of a hard game to explain. The only game i can think to compare it to would be Shenmue, except it's a modern day mystery crime solver. A lot of choices along the way to make, which change the outcome of the game. You get to play as multiple characters during the course of the story as well.

It's only called "Fahrenheit" in Europe i think. Indigo Prophecy is the American version of the game. I heard they edited a bunch of stuff out for the US version, so i got Fahrenheit instead. Not sure exactly what they edited out, probably all of the language/nudity. The nudity/sex scenes were unnecessary anyways, so i'm sure the US version isn't too bad. I think it's also on the PS2 and Xbox. No matter what you play it on, it was meant to be played on a PS2 controller for sure, made me glad i have my PS2->usb adapter. It uses both of the analog controls a lot.

Anyways, like i said, i enjoyed the game a lot. It was kind of like participating in a good movie. It's one of those games that you could play for a long period of time and not get bored with it. Interesting story, good characters, nice music, nice graphics as well. I'm looking forward to any other games Quantic Dreams makes.

Anyone else played it? I never heard about it until a friend recommended it to me a while back. I get the feeling a large majority of people never even heard of it.

I've played it. It has a lot of atmosphere and a message for those who are at a high enough level to understand, along the lines of The Matrix and John Carpenter's They Live!. The Simon Says-style gameplay, not exactly my cup of tea, but the story and characters made up for it.

Where did you find the version called Fahrenheit I played the demo and thought ti was pretty good but I wouldnt want to pay too much for the game. Willing to part with your copy?

I played through maybe 1/4 - 1/2 on the Xbox, then got to a part where I go back to my apartment (as Lucas) and a huge wind is blowing me around and throwing stuff at me, and I swear I must have tried it about 50 times but couldn't get past the "hit the alternating buttons as fast as possible" part where the wind is pushing you back..

Mainly because whoever decided on the button scheme on the Xbox (that you can't change) should be shot. Let's see, a part where you have to hit two buttons back-and-forth really fast, hmmm... Let's use the analog triggers! That way it will be as difficult and as painful for the fingers of the person trying to do it.

so, rather than go into physical therapy, I gave up. I was really enjoying the game up until that point, but, oh well

I can imagine the controls are pretty lame on the xbox version. For PS2 controllers, the game was real easy. Like I said the game was designed with a PS2 controller in mind. I recommend you pick it up on the PS2 if you're still interested
