Officials for some countries are concerned abort India's ability to host the Commonwealth Games next month. Venues are reportedly unfinished, a bridge recently collapsed in the area. To top it off, the athletes village is being called unsafe and unsanitary. Some countries are considering pulling out of the games while others are delaying their arrival.

BBC took some pictures of the village over this past week showing how bad it is.

Some British reporters said this is not bad because India is a democratic country and it is better than the 2008 Beijing Olympic because China is not democratic.

There was also "excrement in places it shouldn't be", thought to be a result of labourers relieving themselves in the homes, while Scottish officials are reported to have photographed a stray dog defecating on a bed.

o_O...I have to say I expected better. This is embarrassing indeed.

Ha! not surprised. I wish private companies won the bids to do all that construction. The govt of india is so corrupt and can't build anything. (All the nice malls/mini cities in INdia are all built by private money and companies)

I hope majority of countries pull out!

The games are scheduled to be held in a third world crappy country... I would not have expected anything different. India is the only country I know where there's a permanent stink throughout the entire country.

Oh, and I've seen stories concerning this for days. I just remembered New Delhi was in India. Thanks OP...

Sadly, this is business as usual for India. Construction workers there are the laziest most inept people when not supervised. You literally have to sit there and watch them do every single step, and tell them what they're doing wrong as they're working. Ridiculous.

Its sad a country with so many smart people can't get its shit together, but you can't expect much when its all run by corrupt as fuck politicians and governments.

Why would you give the games to a shithole like India?

Mind you, if there was a terrorist attach, how would you tell?

Figures...beautiful country over-run by filthy people.

I've been on a couple of construction jobs that (for some unknown reason) were required to hire a bunch of Indian immigrants. Mostly laborers, they were lazy, unskilled, and worthless...even the Russians on construction jobs get more done.
