Didn't watch the video or even open the link, but I like how the url title is that a video shows police officers ALLEGEDLY abusing the dog. Uh, what?
Just throwing this out there... http://leerburg.com/corrections.htm
"...When a dog shows handler aggression or animal aggression, the handler (in a assertive, firm, calm manner) simply says "NO" and lifts the dog's front feet of the ground. When that happens, the collar tightens and takes the air away from the dog. There is no pain involved with this correction, but it has a profound effect on the dog."
is there a full video that shows whether or not the dog was being aggressive to the handler or others....or if the dog seemed to be behaving fine?
Yes full video and witnesses who said the dog was doing nothing, and no, that is not dog training the guy is doing watch the vid before making assumptions.

Let me guess, the investigation will find that the police officer "was following proper established procedures"...
not so bad, although the situation doesn't APPEAR to warrant itThe video posted Wednesday shows an officer using a leash to lift the dog to its hind legs,
WTFthen striking the dog's middle section with what appears to be another leash.
not so bad, although the situation doesn't APPEAR to warrant itHe then lifts the dog into the air by the leash, and the dog is seen swinging around once.
My family is pretty big in the dog training community, and has trained K-9.
My guess as to what I'm seeing is that this officer had probably trained his dog using a choke chain. His dog was disobeying some command (I know we don't see that) and lacking his tool, he did this crap
I've been to a lot of dog trials and in the end those guys (shock collars, hitting the dog) always take home the trophies
So would hanging Police officers by the neck when they fail an assignment in Police Academy and whipping them make them better Officers and stop all the misconduct taking place in the U.S. now?
