Indiana Jones 5 -- confirmed

Whilst on Bloomberg promoting Star Wars: The Force Awakens (not that it needs any help), Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger unleashed the quote-unquote shocking news that a new Indiana Jones movie is definitely happening. He very nonchalantly dropped the bomb; “Indiana Jones as well, by the way, which will be coming.”

Considering recent news that Steven Spielberg himself said no one but Harrison Ford will be Indy, and that Iger has said a new film is coming, it’s not hard to put two and two together and presume there are plans in the works for a new Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford again in the lead.

Heroic Hollywood mention the rumours that Shia LaBeouf’s character Mutt Williams – Indy’s son – from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull could return in the next instalment, albeit played by an older actor, with the usual names being bandied about for the role like Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper.

Anything can happen between now and this mystical planned release of a new Indiana Jones film; negotiations between Ford, Spielberg and Disney could fall through and the whole thing could be rebooted, unless there’s some contractual clause buried somewhere in Disney’s Lucasfilm sale contract stating that a new Indy film can’t be made without ol’ Steven’s sign-off… Who knows. It’s all conjecture at this point.

Regardless, bossman Bob Iger wants to make a new Indiana Jones movie, it’s on the docket, and he probably will – one way or another.

That would explain why they (SW spoiler)
killed off Han in the TFW.

I vote Chris Pratt. He has the chops to play Indiana after both GOTG & Jurassic Park. I think he can get serious enough for the role to let a little Indiana humor come out without being a complete goofball too. Plus, they really owe it to us to make Jones fun again...the Crystal Skull movie was pathetically bad

I think Pratt is the universal choice, but I don't think it's going to happen. He's tied up in the shit-fest Jurassic World now. I really hope he does Indy though. He's born for the role.

Yeah, he was a fan favorite a couple of years back too.

He seemed so tired in Crystal Skull. I remember on Tech TV when he addressed the fans about the movie with Steven at Comic Con and he didn't know what to say and looked like an idiot. The film was a disappointment, though maybe if George isn't involved it won't get nuts like Aliens and crap.

I'll see it as long as Shia isn't in it.

But yeah, I think it's time for another actor to play Indie. Like another said, Harrison Ford looked very tired and worn out in the last film.

By the pic above Chris Pratt would make a great Indy.

And I like Shia well enough. He's different for sure, but nothing wrong with that.

Shit. Took me too long to process SW... Haven't seen TFW yet. Oh well.

Anyway, I think Bradley Cooper has the better look and personality to replace a younger Harrison. Chris Pratt is okay, but he doesn't seem as charismatic as Bradley -- and I saw too much of him in Parks & Recreation.

Just stop, enough already. I'm so done with everything having to be a never ending franchise, within a universe, a reboot, an unjustified sequel, or split into parts.

Holy shit, if I see another Marvel ass hole on a screen anywhere, it will be too god damn soon.
