So I heard all of us in IN will now be obvserving daylight savings time on Apr. 2 at 2am and pushing our clocks one hour forward. Which time zone does this put us in permanently? Eastern?

Actually it depends on where you are in the state.....but if you never observed day light savings time you will be in Eastern most likely.

in NW indiana, you are always on central time, or at least the same as chicago time. in other parts of the state, indianapolis for example, your clocks never change. everywhere else changes theirs, so half the year you are on chicago time, and half the year new york time. it was annoying at times, so when i went to visit home in nw indiana from college in indianapolis, i would either lose or gain an hour depending on the time of the year i went home.
