Indian Movie Channels on Satelite TV

could someone give me a quick summary of how satelite tv subscriptions work.
Which is a good one to sign up to. If there are month to month ones. Hardware to purchase?

My grandparents are visiting from india, and i know they like to watch indian movie channels on those networks,

Dish Network is good and has selection down to the state and language based channels.
