I know there is already a thread on this matter but this I believe goes beyond the thread and is something that has NOT been mentioned in the thread itself.
Please merge with the other thread if necessary!! -- Thank You!!
Probably one of the best things to finally come out of the "police abuse" of innocent citizens is the Indian Government getting involved in this case --
Which in turn will continue to draw attention to the ever increasing problem of Police abuse running rampant in the USA....

The could be a big diplomatic fallout over this......seems the Police messed with the wrong person....
The injured man is highly respected in his country.......
This has nothing to do with anything in India....which some of the pro-police abuse posters will try to say look at Police abuse in India, which is just a way to deflect from this issue.
The truth as I see it is this could and should be a huge wakeup call.
As a country India I am sure would rather deal with us that others....but they do not really need us.....
Lets see how this plays out on the diplomatic side of things!!

The Indian government is taking the incident seriously and is "extremely disturbed" by the treatment of Patel, a spokesman said Friday.
"This is a matter of concern for us, and India and the U.S. as open pluralist societies need to address these issues and find ways in a mature manner so that these are aberrations and are not the norm," said Syed Akbaruddin, India's foreign ministry spokesman.
Embassy of India spokesman Sridharan Madhusudhanan said in an emailed statement that the office has been in touch with Patel's family, the doctors who are caring for him and the U.S. Embassy in Delhi.
