That last book of the Bible, it holds more truth then any science text book. They keep revising text books, but not the Bible.

*facepalm*

I'm not sure if that's more facepalm than Casiotech's quote though. ATOT, what do you think?

Hmmm....the one in your sig currently is pretty good, but having a CasioTech quote in your sig is kinda cliche...ive seen at least 4 of them.

True...but the quote is so epic...

epic indeed

My wife asked me what the "big bang theory" was, out of the blue, and I asked her why but she wouldn't tell me. Now I know. Wow, this is sad news. :(

You guys keep making fun of him, but in his defense, what he said was 100 percent accurate. They do keep revising text books, and the Bible does have more truth, primarily because no self-respecting text book would ever claim to have "the truth" in it; text books have facts, theories, hypotheses and ideas based around observation and testing. Sure, these text books are far more accurate than the "truth" of the Bible, but no one said anything about accuracy.

If I was the creator of the LHC I would kinda feel like a dick right now for indirectly killing a teenage girl.

I was going to try to argue this point, but then I tried reading the wiki and my head assploded.

Sorry.

OH SNAP, I found me a cliff notes version!

http://www.bibleplus.org/prophecy/revelation.htm

So feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, since I'm merely quoting another source without verifying ANYTHING but

Jesus resurrects the righteous dead, transforms the righteous living and takes them to heaven

I see this as not being truthful.

That's the stupidest thing I've heard all day, and I just read about someone who killed herself to avoid death. I flew United back in the 1990s; that ticket money allowed United to stay in business, which allowed them to run the flights that were hijacked by terrorists on 9/11 and flown into buildings, leading America into wars in the Middle East which have claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. Boy do I feel guilty!

The only thing better than having a hand in it is getting the same great result without any effort. Hopefully the real experiments will cause more stupids to self-destruct.

Though the Bible has had more editors/translators over its existence than Wilt Chamberlain had blowjobs.

here's my problem... if you are going to kill yourself and you are going to do it by drinking pesticide, why not add some cherry flavored kool-aid to it or something? i mean, why not make it taste really really good? some people might say, "what? that's crazy!" and i will admit, ok fine, maybe you don't like cherry flavored kool-aid as much as i do, but that's why there is grape and strawberry flavors also! there is no logical reason not to pick the tastiest death possible. i really don't know what she was thinking. even if the added calories from sugar is a concern you can use splenda. if you look on the splenda packets no where does it mention NOT to use it with pesticide. so really, you should be good go here. i'm talking tasty cherry flavored low-cal pesti-cide here folks. the future is now.

Gee, let's think about her logic for a second. Even if she was 100% sure she was going to witness the end of the world. She was faced with two choices

1) Die horribly with massive stomach cramps as your organs shut down by drinking weed killer.

Or

2) Get sucked into a black hole in what must be the greatest death in history.

Hmmm....

That phrase is stunning in its simplicity and fundamental truth.

So if she was going to die anyway, why not just wait and let the LHC do it?
Death by mini-Big-Bang > death by pesticide.

Many women and children rushed to temples and observed fasts as they prayed for deliverance, officials and witnesses said.

Assurances by scientists and the media that nothing would happen counted for nothing for housewife Rukmini Moharana.

"I visited temple, prayed to god," Moharana said. "I am observing the fast for safety because god can only save us."

The really frightening part is that those people will now believe that their prayers worked.
Hah, fasting. I love that stuff.

Hey, how can you get faster results from praying? Don't eat anything for awhile!!! It like, totally works! God savors the taste of your discomfort. He simply never tires of it. We also kind of think that God might have some kind of mental disorder, or possibly a fetish related to not eating. But hey, whatever seems to work!

Not all Indians are hindu; many of them are muslim.

And many of them aren't as religious as you might think. The young generation is far more westernized than their parents, and much of their culture is a matter of habit and peer pressure, not from religious conviction.

Wow, prayer is a lot like Vicodin. If you do it on an empty stomach, it works better.

Many Hindus believe they will be reincarnated as rats. National Geographic's Taboo had an episode I DVRed about this a few weeks ago. They let rats crawl all over their house and even in their food. They think the rats are sacred and they let them do whatever they want. Pets, basically.
