Indian food

Are there any Indian dishes that don't use alot of curry? I like it, but it generally doesn't agree with me. A little is OK, but it seems all the Indian dishes I pick are loaded with curry.

oooh oooooh ooooh.....REPOST!!!

😛 😛

but i dont feel like providing a link to the original thread.
so basically, im just as lazy as u. hehe

but to answer your question, try chicken tandoori with naan. or matar paneer...that is not "creamy" like the other curries like chicken tikka masala

I'm lactose intollerant, so nothing with milk, cream, etc.

then u should stay away from indo food. most indo foods are made from kheer..which is derived from milk

Yeah- well, I'm not going to make it, just eat out or buy frozen. Ethnic Gormet Frozen Foods is by me, so I pick some of their stuff up sometimes.

I got Eggplant Bhartha today, which was great- but of course lots of curry. The ingredients don't list curry, just "spices", so I guess I'll have to just conclude it all has curry.

Am I whining? I just want to be educated.

I always thought too much curry was a sign the dish wasn't made right. It shouldn't taste only like curry, should it?

Is it just too spicy? Or is it have a "curry" taste. I believe they make many dishes that uses a wide variety of spices, but not curry. Cumin, coriander, garam masala, etc..

Try some South Indian food instead:

- Dosa & masala
- Idli Sambar
- anything with coconut or fish (Bengali food too)
- anything with a Portuguese-sounding name

you might want to try a samosa, channa dishes, paneer dishes (might upset your lactose hater side), or maybe dal makhani, and dal masala.
