The bush is not so bad when you drink and bathe in a river as dead bodies and garbage float by.

Don't understand why they haven't at least move to outhouses or some other type of semi constructed outdoor commode system than literally pausing and taking a shit wherever you happen to be when you need to go.

brings to mind Slumdog Millionaire and the toilet scene where he falls in and yet still meets his favorite movie star

Too many people, not enough space.

No. They have plenty of space. They already built the toilets. Their population just refuses to use them because they are a generally stupid people. The average Indian isn't the average Indian that comes over to the US. Many are extremely poor and uneducated. They don't understand why they should be using a toilet, so why should they? Not their fault their social system keeps them that way, but that is the reason.

Only about half the indian population has any access to a toilet, including pit latrines.

That is not the case.

Nice sources you have there

http://phys.org/news/2010-10-india-cell-toilets.html
Yet U.N. figures show that only 366 million Indians have access to a private toilet or latrine, leaving 665 million to defecate in the open.

Read more at: http://phys.org/news/2010-10-india-cell-toilets.html#jCp

http://www.worldwatch.org/node/5142

Percentage of people with access to adequate sanitary toilets in United States 100
In Canada 100
In India 33
In Ethiopia 13
In Eritrea and Chad 9

http://www.thehindu.com/news/nation...cellphones-but-not-toilets/article2992061.ece
Only 46.9 per cent of the total 246.6 million households have toilet facilities. Of the rest, 3.2 per cent use public toilets. And 49.8 per cent ease themselves in the open. In

Not denying that culture and uneducation play a large role in this issue, but to deny that many don't have access to proper sanitation facilities is insane.

I don't need sources, but I'll remember that next time I go to India and people are shitting openly in the streets. Proper sanitation is not equivalent to not having a place to shit other than out in the open. There are options available for the populace, they just don't see the need because they don't understand disease. They have peed and pooped wherever they wanted forever -- and really, it hasn't been that bad for them in terms of disease compared to their population.

In the US, individuals built outhouses. Pretty sure rural Indians could do the same if they wanted, but what is the point if you've never had any need to do anything other than go when you gotta go

Whats messed up in India is how the dump corpses in the river upstream, and downstream people are bathing and drinking the water as the bloated corpses go by them.

Another thing, I saw this documentary where the Rich have private skyscrapers they build for themselves right in the middle of slums, you see one of the penthouse owners with like 30 Ferraris in his penthouse garage. He gets in one and drives out. You can see as he is driving out the Abject poverty, people living in dirt pits, children digging up holes to find grubs to eat like birds do, corpses, shit everywhere. But the guy just driving his Ferrari and talking about it as he passes all this by.

You would think why not 29 Ferraris and use that money for the 30th Ferrari to maybe clean up the neighborhood, build toilets?

I bet 500-600K builds lots of toilets in your hood.

Do they actually see a toilet, see a bush, then say efff it, i wanna shit by the bush?

Pretty much, they are used to doing it in the fields and bushes, going indoors is a change for them and people don't welcome change that easy. It takes a lot of effort and education and persuasion and intensives to make it happen. The article you linked shows the effort the country is putting into getting people to do the right thing and decrease pollution.

The bush is not so bad when you drink and bathe in a river as dead bodies and garbage float by.
That is exactly what the govt is trying to decrease, if people stop doing it in the fields and bushes, it wont wash into rivers and rivers can be cleaner. Govt is also taking massive steps to reduce dumping dead bodies and industrial waste into river and also undertaking major cleaning projects. Many of them are under effect and Places like banaras (you pictured) and transforming as a result.

It makes me wonder if we seriously overestimate the quality of life we should strive for. At first glance it makes you ponder how those people in the pictures even survive in those conditions. The truth is people are just animals that do clever tricks on occasion. We are not even close to being overpopulated. If we were we would die off like predators would from lack of prey. You can't think yourself out of needing food, water, shelter and reproduction. We obviously have plenty of each because our numbers keep rising.

The skyscraper came first. Due to laws that protect shanty towns, what happens is you'll have an area newly renovated and then the poor will come in and setup in any available space right up against the building if possible, and it sprawls out from there.

My ancestors were East Indians from India. About half our population in the Caribbean Island of Trinidad and Tobago is of East Indian descent but our quality of life is drastically higher. We are the 3rd richest country per capita in the western hemisphere after USA and Canada.

The problem is we also have corruption issues and lots of them. Nepotism is one of the highest in the world when it comes to public sector jobs.

What I cannot get with Indians like my kind is how they can defend India, look at my father he insists India is the greatest thing since sliced bread, he looks at some scientists and engineers from IIT in Mumbai some lecture in MIT and Stanford in the US aswell. And he thinks yeah thats it India is so great, he is beyond delusional.

Indians are for the most part Hindus. And Hindus believe that that same river the gangees they call it? they believe some sort of God name Shiva sucked out all the poison in a old story and since then the river is free of bacteria.

I have an idiotic neighbor he heard on some useless radio station that some Indian scientist did a test of the water in the river and even though there are dead bodies there, it has 0% bacteria. So he is as retarded as the man on the radio who claimed the scientist found this answer.

I would say India's biggest problem is religion, but have you seen China? they are just as filthy with garbage etc and they outlawed religion and god there.

So what is the answer? what is the reason? i would say this, even as an Indian, white people are just superior. It somewhat pains me to say it but sadly its the truth, whites have evolved more than us.

Admittedly I find the hottest women in the world to be from North India like those bollywood stars, Aishwarya Rai etc but then is Aishwarya Rai really a true Indian? how does she have green eyes? my guess she is mixed with white.

Also fair skin Indians hate dark skin ones, its a very very natural thing with Indian people for some reason. Notice how almost everyone of these people living in filth are darker? In India very fair skin people have far better opportunity then there is the caste system.

I love how evolved white people are compared to the rest of the world, but there is something about these north upscale Indian women they are quite good looking. I have looked at some of the best looking white women, Candice Swanepool from Victoria Secret super model and still I have not found anything like Aishwarya Rai. But these people are few and far, average Indian looks nothing like her. This is a picture of Mis Rai without any sort of photoshopping or anything, one of the few natural pics from the 90's

^ so I suppose judging from that, my assumption on white people being more evolved and superior is wrong? am I off? or is it a case of Indian mixed with white?

^ yeah she is pretty indeed however that one has some filtering on it.

here is a pure image without any photoshopping or filtering. I can tell you this, if both her and candice swanepool goes out in the sun, Katrina Kaif would blow her away. Indians skin hold up far better than whites in the sun especially here in the Caribbean. It also holds up far better with age, I have seen white women in their 40's they look nothing like Indians at the same age. Indians look more than 10 years younger.

Like when I see white folks come out of the Air Conditioning at the airport, their skin looks really spotty and blistered up in the sun, its red as hell. Majority of other races for some reason does not have this issue.

Though admittedly you have to wonder why are white people so evolved? they may not have as nice skin as Indians but they have blue eyes, something no other race has.

IS that why they rely so heavily on pungent odor spices? To fight back against the creeping ambient stench of shit?
