Could face being banned, and I wonder what implications there are on health.

You think it's as bad as the squalid living conditions a large percentage of Indians live in?Originally posted by: Legend

This is retarded. If you drink waaaaay too much coke or pepsi everyday, it's going to lead to an early death, but it's not going to be due to pesticide poisoning lol.

This isn't true. Any manufacturing process is the responsibility of the manufacturer, not the local populace. The water quality in India is actually pretty high relative to other countries. They utilize modern wastewater treatment facilities in many regions, though their discharge requirements are often not as stringent as they are in the US (though no other country has as stringent requirements as the US). They also use similar drinking water treatments to our own. People often have the image of the Indian street with sewage running down the middle in their heads, but the Indians that I know say that this is rarely the case except in smaller, undeveloped villages.Originally posted by: fallenangel99
If the bottles are manufactured in India, then, its not Cokes/Pepsi fault. Most likely, its the sh!tty production system in the factories in India. God knows where the water comes from in India.. and if it's cleaned or not.
yuck.
I think that if India is going to be in the demanding business, Coke and Pepsi should abide so long as every person in India eats a hamburger first. Fvck India and their demands.

If the production plant in India is not enforcing the safety checks, it is the fault of the Indians. You can use a controlled fire to cook and leave an unattended fire to burn a forest. That doesn't means you should blame fire for it. Blame the person who left the fire unattended. With the high pollution levels of the Ganges river fom industrial waste and agricultural pesticides, extensive treatement is needed before that water can be used anywhere. I wonder if these production facilities are using this polluted water (or from some other such polluted water source) for their production facilities.
