Since I wrecked a $60 keyboard by spilling an entire can of soda on it, I picked up this wacky, fodable, water proof keyboard from CompUsa.. It's a little hard to get used to but it's totally silent, tiny, and I can step on the damn thing without worrying about breaking it.. Really worth the $40 is you're a slob like me (broke 2 kbs and 1 mouse in the past year)..

Link from Compusa.. Not a good pic though

I've seen those, but I'm not sure if I could ever buy one. I killed the nice HP keyboard I had with spilling milk into it. Now I'm using a MS Multimedia keyboard. I figure if I mess this up, they're usually generous with replacements.

I've seen those before, and tried it out - not sure if I could get used to the feel, especially for gaming..

cool as hell though - the cool factor on it is through the roof :D

are you sure the other keyboard can't be fixed? many can be taken completely apart and washed. the circuit boards on the ones i've seen are flexible plastic, easy to clean.

Yeah, I don't think gaming would be good on the board.. I have two computers and my gaming PC still has a standard keyboard.. But I love the tactile/rubbery feedback you get when you type.. It's better than the "click click click" you get with regular keyboards.. But, you're right, it does take a bit to get used to... You're right on the "wow" factor - my parents and GF went nutzo when I folded the keyboard and then pounded it with my fist..

I hate silent/quiet keboards.

<-- uses a 15 year old Dell keyboard that probably weighs 5lbs. :p

Yeah, my FAVORITE keyboard of all time is this huge IBM keyboard I had from the 80s.. I've abused that thing so much and it still worked perfectly for years.. To bad it didn't have the new windows keys (I know that they're useless on a PC but, ironically, my mac required the WINDOWS key to do certain commands)..

I'll give that a try... It's a apple g4 "steel" keyboard and cost me a helluva lot of money.. Thanks for the suggestion!

I usually just pick up the free keyboards at places like Office Max or CompUSA every time I see them. They last a good 6 months before they start to act up, like the space bar don't work, or the letters wear off the keys... I've got 3-4 brand new ones laying around usually. I've never ruined a keyboard by spilling something on it though... I'm a little more careful around my computer than that.

Hey freedomsbeat212, it works better if you quote, then you state. That's usually how it works. ;)

Yeah, I should be more careful but my computers are in my bedroom... Since my computer chairs the only chair in the room I often watch tv from it (and place my tv watching snacks on the computer desk).. Spills are the price I pay for being a bit sloppy and having a small room.... But this kb is great not just 'cause it's waterproof- I never have to pop the keys off to get to trapped dust/hair/crap again! You could just spray the thing with glass plus and wipe it clean.. Freaking awesome if you ask me.. i wish they made mice like this.. I love my mx700 but these optical wireless mice seem really fragile...

The current keyboard I like is a focus 2001, but I've already went through 2 of them (one an OLD 104 key (no stupid power keys) and the other was a newer revision with the stupid power keys.

Ironically on both of my keyboards the "I" key started repeating (or not responding)
There was no easy way to take it apart to clean it either, so the keyboards were trashed.
