Independence day resurgence

I just watched this movie. It is a nice one. And while watching the movie i get a strong vibe there is going to be an independence day franchise. There is highly likely another movie coming and i suspect a series alike the 70 series Battlestar Galactica. Fighting in space.
What did you think of this movie and the future of I.D. ?

It wasn't THAT bad... but then again, it wasn't that good either.

When it came out, I rated it R, for "rental".

Okay, I didn't hate it that much, it just wasn't that good. Definitely not as bad as Pacific Rim.

I enjoyed it as an OK popcorn movie with some clever bits about how humans had adapted the alien tech. I'd watch another sequel.

It was a bad movie and the people who made it should feel bad for making something so bad it infected my memories of the original and destroyed a piece of my childhood.

Well, i liked it since they found a way to use the alien technology. Making it more believable.
The original was just bad in plot. Lets hook up a laptop with a virus written that will infect a mothership that has technology centuries ahead of us.
Like someone from the bronze age suddenly knows how to reverse-engineer how a modern day 14nm chip works...
