Whooooo hooooooo!!! I get to drive 3 hours to be on the opposite side of the state (Grand Rapids) so i can see Incubus in concert! I'm soooooo pumped. Plus, a night at the Radisson in Lansing with my g/f afterwards. Talk about a good night. :)

Anybody else seeing Incubus on their current tour? Any comments, song-lists?:p

I saw them in San Francisco about a month ago, I think on their current tour. It was a good show.

I think they do. I'm not 100% sure, but I think they played it when I went.

I saw them 7 times back before they sold their souls to MTV. I can't even listen to their new album without getting angry. Have a good time at the show, maybe it will be worth the ticket price if they play anything old.

When I went it was before their new album was out, so they played tons of old songs, especially from science. Hopefully that hasnt changed too much.

CorporateRecreation,

Dood..I know exactly how you feel...shit I am 35 and continue to moan about the sell out of numerous 80's bands. I just got done listening to "The Warmth" and "Drive" and I honestly believe that if Incubus are selling out, they are still awesome!!!! My God, that sorry excuse for music M & M is producing is sad........Kid Rock suxs....Incubus is a diamond in the rough!!! $50 for a Kid Rock ticket...Pardon Me While I Burst Into Flames!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I like Incubus for what they are now, but I never really heard of them until about a year and a half ago. I can totally understand how you feel though, as it's the same for me with Nickelback. I remember seeing them in a beer garden here where the tickets were $5, and $2 beers after that, and there were only ~200 people there. Now they are totally geared towards MTV etc, and hardly ever play any old stuff at their concerts anymore (which are at least a year apart now here in Vancouver).

Oh my god Silverpig....I saw Metallica in a nightclub 15+ years ago....we consider the desire for wealth as a sell out....Metallica, Armored Saint , and Wasp for 12.00, can you imagine. We all want money.

Selling out sometimes implies changing your style of music to something that can be marketed and sold to the masses. Being popular and selling records and making money is good. Changing your song writing formula so teenage girls will coo at how cute you are because you create 3 minute two riff songs about a cheezy love inuendo is where you have a problem.

If you want to hear what I mean, download Are You In by Incubus and then download "Glass" by incubus.

Another example is Def Lepard. I think that they are a sell out disco band...the first couple of albums...until and including " High & Dry", were awesome!! After that......well:(

I never said they sold out. Their priorities have changed now that they've made it big, and they've forgotten about us guys who helped get them started. It's a different atmosphere at their concerts now. When I went before, almost everyone knew all the lyrics to all of their songs, screamed like maniacs, and loved hearing their old stuff, their old covers, and their "new" experiments; at the last concert I went to, everyone knew the chorus to "How You Remind Me" and just sorta stood there and cheered half-assedly during the rest of the show. Also, the band didn't play very much old stuff, no covers, and no new experimental fun stuff... All in all, it wasn't really that good of a concert compared to others I'd been to.

CorporateRecreation,

I am not arguing with you...you are correct. If you change your style for the money or the masses..you have sold out!! I just do not believe that Incubus has done this. As a way to validate my point, my favotite band in the world is Motorhead!!! Has Lemmy (God) sold out!! Hell no!!! If you see a Motorhead show now, I would believe it would be under the same terms I saw them 15 years ago!! I think Incubus has NOT sold out to mass media.

Well I am sorry you don't see it that way, but had you seen them back in the early nineties back before Science even came out, Brandon clad in dreadlocks and a huge djembe bouncing all over the stage with a ton of energy; and then you saw them today, Brandon shirtless and singing love songs to little girls in the front row, getting down on his knees and pointing to them you probably would see things differently. You have your own opinion on this, and that's fine, but it's just shady.

Silverpig,

You are correct...I hate it when you go to a show and the band (especially an established band) only play the new "popular radio" stuff. They are only trying to sell the new album.....pretty common. I still think Incubus will stand the test of time.

CorporateRecreation,

I will concede this argument to you...The early 90's were my Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Crow Soundtrack period. I did not know that Incubus existed. I forgot the Skatalites...yes, I like SKA ALSO...geez I almost forgot Madness!!!

lol, I was just going to say, what have started? :)

I most certainly have fun at the concert.........I have it lined up: Fungus Amongus, S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself, Morning View. And if there's time, the CD of Phantom Planet, the opening band.

Almost 12 hours left til I leave......
