INCREDIBLE OMG!!! Pinch Me

OMG OMG! I just went into the driver settings on my new 7900gt and clicked on advanced performance options. (I never used this feature with my old 6600gt I just installed the latest drivers and ran that stock and adjusted settings in game).

I clicked on advanced and turned all the sliders to the right just to see in BF2 would be playable at all those crazy mipmap, trillinear etc?.etc? settings and I load up BF2 with all the in game settings at max 4xaa @ 1024x768 (best for my monitor) and OMG BF2 graphics are a whole new ballgame!

THIS IS JUST AMAZING GRAPHICS! With all the driver settings maxed. I cannot believe I never used the driver cp to adjust the settings. I probably could have got more out of my 6600gt. I?m at ultra max settings in BF2 at 55fps min. OMG OMG!!!

Any others have storys like this? How do you people use the control panel? In game? or Actually us it?

I had to pass on getting a FW900 because I don't have a big enough desk.

I went with the Dell 2405 which has the same rez - well, the Sony goes higher, but I'll talking practical use - and the text is just fine at 1920x1200 at normal size. My old 19" CRT at 1600x1200 required Large Fonts to be readable, but that caused problems with some programs. The 24" widescreen monitor is two inches taller vertically and it makes a huge difference.

On a 21" I'd say yes. I rum my 21" IBM P260 at 1600x1200 for everything except some games that I have to run 1280x960.
