Incredible diappearing AGP mb... Help!........

Im running a Gigabyte GA-7DX w/T-bird 1Ghz, 128 mb PC2100 SDram (more in the mail 🙂 )

I recently purchased/installed Inno3D GF2 Ti 64 DDR . (I know I should have gotten a GF3, but I only
had $100 - so don't flame me)

I've been doing some benchmarking and one thing I've discovered is the my AGP mem. is being reported
low (by SiSoft Sandra 2001 and 3dmark 2001); when I had it set at 32mb - both programs reported 8mb,
when set at 64mb - 24 mb, and set at 128mb - 56mb.

Is this normal, or is it because I have only 128 mb ram (like I said - more is on the way). There is also a
"Top Performance" option in the AGP section of my bios (Award). Does that have something to do with it?

When comparing 3dmark scores, I seem to be off on DOT3 bump mapping and the texture fills. I think
(especially the Texture fills) this might have something to do with this problem. When I went from 32 to 64
mb AGP in the bios, I gained about 10% in performance, but going to 128mb only yielded marginal gains.

Other than that, the card seems to perform real well. Maybe I shouldn't care.

Thanx for any wisdom

Normally you set it at half the size of your physical memory. So in your case at 64Mb. Other than that you should use the latest drivers. I don't know what "Top Performance" means in your BIOS.

Yeah, I don't know what top performance is either. I consulted the documentation and it said basically
nothing. I turned it off, w/a slight decrease in performance, so I'll leave it on.

I do have the aperture set at 64mb currently; now it lists as 32 mb. One thing I noticed was that, in SiSoft
Sandra, the AGP is listed as 4x, and fast writes/ sidebanding is supported, but fast write/sidebanding is not
enabled. I have enabled it in the Bios (in fact I just flashed the Bios) and the card supports 4X. I just
can't seem to get it enabled. Arghhhhhhh!

Anyone had this problem w/ Gigabyte 7DX and/or Geforce2 Ti?

Help. Pluuuease!🙁
