Increase Audio Latency?

I am capturing video and audio, and they are out of sync, if only 30ms, but it IS noticeable. i'm thinking about increasing the audio latency so they match dead on. is this possible? I have a sb audigy.

It's not related to your soundcard, it's related to whatever Codec you're using to encode the sound.

Some like AC3 have a control panel where you can set a permanent latency. Most likely whatever software you're encoding with has some sort of +/- setting you can use to fix your problem

You have entered a world of headaches and pain though... audio/video encoding is a huge pain until you find a set of codecs you get used to.

Check out http://www.afterdawn.com/ - I found a lot of good utilities and codec information there.

i'm using wmv9 and wma9 codecs with Windows Media Encoder. Maybe they have a sound editor to where I can shift the audio a bit.

No kidding. I've been on the verge of popping a few rounds, or a whole mag, from my AR into the PC and A/V gear when messing with some codecs and editing...it just gets ridiculous sometimes.

hmmm... i would like to use wmv9 and can't get wmv9 into vdub. maybe i'll have to start using divx and instead of WMe, ill have to use ulead vid studio. hm. Ill try divx.

actually, i have ulead vid studio 7, and i think i can put a wmv video track in there, then the vid's audio track, and then put in a small x millisecond audio clip just before the wma file in the timeline. but then i think i have to re-encode the entire movie- oh... there's gota be an easier way...
