increase agp voltage or frequency? (or both)

I'm at 420/1.2 (bfg 6800gt) without anyartifact, but if i go any higher i get them. I think its because i dont have enough power going to it. DO i increase the agp frequency or the voltage? thanks

I think you may have bottomed out, From what I have read in bits and pieces, after a certain OC on the 6800 GT, it is a point of diminishing returns for 1, and also, after a certain OC, you need a voltage mod, or diff bios.

I'd be happy with what you have... the card is mainly CPU limited in most games anyway.

Unlikely. Artifacting is usually caused by pushing components too hard, not from a lack of power.

Why risking to waste a very good card for a little more?
I think in your situation the only thing you could do is a voltage mod. But why?

Flashing to an ultra bios add/s .1 vols to the gpu i think, 1.3 for gt, 1.4 for ultra.

Ultra has 2 power connectors and different latancy ram doesn't it? Wouldn't it be a bad idea to flash to one?

The two power connections could be a problem... although... if you're handy with a soldering iron, and can get some extra capacitors, I think you could ad the 2nd one yourself

2 power connectors probably aren't holding you back. Increasing AGP coltage though should do much if anything. Your pretty much maxed out right now unless you do a volt mod. I dont think a BIOS update will do any good at that speed.

See, the BIOS update would make it look for two power connectors, which the GT doesn't have... if you could PUT two power connectors on it, then you might be in OK shape.

well thanks for all the input =). I personally just love overclocking for the fun of it to see how far i can get. And no i wont push to the point of frying it... its not THAT easy to do that. I'll try the bios flash once i see people trying it and seeing if it works. I have a lifetime warranty but i dont wanna rip BFG off =P

See, the BIOS update would make it look for two power connectors, which the GT doesn't have... if you could PUT two power connectors on it, then you might be in OK shape.

Or it might simply read the 2nd power connector as unconnected. If i'm not mistaken, the Ultra can run on 1 molex?

I believe it will underclock itself if you don't have both plugged in. Or maybe that's the Ultra Extreme Super Duper Edition...
