Inconsistent win2k partition drive letter assignment

I have a win2k harddrive with 2 partitions on it.
I used a drive image app to copy this drive to another physical drive.
However, when I boot up windows on the backup, the second partition is assigned a LETTER AFTER the 2 CDROM drives.
How can I fix this? Obviously, none of the apps/shortcuts work, since it expects a D:\ drive, not an H:\

Thanks

Could try going into the device manager and giving the cd-rom drives drive letter assignments of G: and H: (for example). That way, the 2 partitions should default to C: and D:

Right click on your My Computer icon and pick Manage. When the computer management window comes up click Disk Management, from there right click on the drive you would like to change and pick "Edit Drive Letter and Path"
