Inconsistent thread moving

Innoka

Senior member
How do the moderators decide which threads to move and which not to?
I saw several threads about operating systems on the first general hardware page, but mine got move, theirs didn't. For that matter, general hardware has threads that belong to all sort of other forums.
And it also makes more sense to move the notification over into the "private message" box. Instead of clogging up my Outlook, keep the information where it belongs, at Anandtech.
Thankyou.

The moving of a thread is a subjective call. These decisions are made by a diverse group of volunteers. Total consistency will be achieved as soon as all the Moderators receive their Borg implants, but until then we must muddle through with human judgments, which may fail to meet your standard of perfection.

Regarding notification when your thread is moved: This is done as a courtesy to you. Sorry if you view this as a nuisance, but we haven't the time to sort out which members prefer being notified in what specific ways. Instead of clogging up our Forum Issues, why didn't you PM this?

I think it has to do with replies to your thread. If no one posts a response, you are going to get bumped down soon. If you keep getting replies, you'll be bumped to the top.
