Inconsistent connection during online gaming

My problem is that, when playing online games, such as CS:GO and Black Ops II, I get a very inconsistent connection and the "connection interrupted" message keeps popping up on screen. The ping is usually fine, around 60-80. This is only an issue online.
First, I wanted to identify the problem, so I moved my computer to my modem and tested the games with ethernet; they ran fine. I then switched back to WiFi, while still next to the modem, to see if distance was the issue. The problem returned using WiFi, so considering that none of the other gaming devices in the house had this problem, I assumed it was a problem with my wireless card.
I went to Microcenter and bought a new wireless card and installed it today. The problem persisted, even when I tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers using the disk given. One thing that I noticed was that the name given in Device Manager (Qualcomm Atheros Osprey Wireless Network Adapter) for the wireless card did not match the name of the card, even though I used the card's disk to install the drivers. To fix this, I downloaded drivers from Trendnet's website and manually installed the 8.1x64 drivers. However, the issue persisted.
Here is all hardware and software information:
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro (64 bit)
CPU: Intel i5 4690k
GPU: GTX 970
Router: NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (R7000)
Old Wireless Card: TP-LINK N900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter
New Wireless Card: Trendnet N600 Wireless Dual Band PCIe Adapter

If I need to add any more information, please let me know and I will edit it into the post.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I had that problem using the lower 2.4 GHz band streaming Netflix to the BD player . Altho the dualband modem provides the faster 5 GHz connection the player--in your example, that would be the network card,--didn't. I first tried a signal extender--the equivalent of moving the player (connected to the TV) beside the modem- but the problem was not that 2.4 was a weak signal but that it was incapable of playing HD movies. The player used up the data transferred way before further data arrived and thought there was a disconnect .

I bought a dual band player and , like the Allman Bros. say Trouble No More.

Hey,
I understand that a wired connection would be optimal, but it is not an option for me currently.

I have tried using both bands (2.4 and 5) but both yield the same problem.

As mentioned in the post, all of the other wireless gaming devices in my house work fine (some even further away from the router than this PC) so I think that it is a hardware/software issue specific to my PC.

EDIT: And I am having the same issue with the same PC on an entirely different wifi network in an entirely different place.
