Ever since moving to Win10 I have noticed how erratic my startup and restart times are. Most the time, the restarts zip through whereas startup from a shutdown always takes longer to boot up. Given my limited knowledge how modern Windows shuts down and starts up, I would have expected this to be the other way around. Either way, it's significantly longer than my previous Win7 install.
My system specs are in my sig. I originally did an upgrade of my genuine boxed Win7 HP to Win10 H just to mess about with it and see what was what. I then downloaded the MS Win10 media builder tool and burned a DVD, secure erased my SSD and loaded from scratch. All my drivers are the latest ones and all updates have been done. None of my software has really changed since the original load up and no settings change either yet my boot up and restarts are inconsistent.
UEFI settings:
Installed in UEFI mode with GPT partition style
Fastboot enabled
CSM disabled
Secure boot enabled
I don't want to disable secure boot and I haven't actually tested the times with it off but as some of my restarts absolutely fly I can't see how this is the issue.
I shutdown and boot up my PC per day and I haven't tinkered with any of the power management settings beyond the usual turn off display / auto sleep etc but I have disabled both hibernation and sleep via reg settings.
Any ideas much appreciated.
