After rearranging components in my PC, I had to take out my Lite-ON DVD rom (LTR-163).
When I replaced my DVD rom there was an error when posting saying Incompatible ATAPI Device.

As a result I have lost the use of my DVD-rom,
The tray still ejects and when I insert a disc I can hear it spinning.
But for some reason its no recognized by the BIOS anymore, also I did hear a little rattling in the DVD Rom when replacing it.

As anyone encountered this before?

Can anyone help me?

Make sure that the IDE cable is properly seated and that there are no bent pins on the drive. If the tray ejects and the disc spins, then obviously the drive is receiving power. Other than that, I can't think of anything else, except to possibly reset the CMOS or to fool around with some settings in the BIOS. If none of that helps, you may need to RMA the drive.

Make sure the jumper on the back is set for Master or Slave based on the ribbon cable connector used.

Some BIOS aren't good at auto-detecting devices. Stop at the BIOS and try to force it to detect the dvd-rom.

Thanx all, It was such a simple mistake I am almost embarrassed to mention it.

I had gotten the new rounded cables, and because they are so close together on the mobo,
I didn't realised that one wasn't inserted all the way in.
