The upcoming Walmart circular reveals that the mega-retailer will do a "rollback" on the price of the Xbox 360 4GB Kinect bundle, dropping it to $249 (down $50 from the current price). The flyer we were provided was for the week beginning August 28.

The timing of the price cut could be a reaction to Sony's recent PS3 price snip. Microsoft recently stated it wasn't feeling any pressure to reduce the price of the Xbox 360 in Europe. Meanwhile, in America, the system has performed consistently well in the later years of its life.

Certainly was expect by most on this forum, but I didn't think it'd be the Kinect bundle only - perhaps it's larger than that but we might have to wait for the official announcement.

Maybe a $50 cut on Kinect, which is vastly overpriced, At $99, it would make the 4GB console $249.

I sure wouldn't mind a price cut on the NON kinect variants. Especially those with a hard drive. $100-130 for a 250g harddrive is just downright silly. Sadly, Microsoft has outsold sony 12 of the the past 13 months. So the incentive just isn't there. Meanwhile I'm doubtful this deal is in reaction to the sony cut. Cheap Ass Gamer forums have been dolling out arm fulls of Kinect bundle discounts all year long.
