Included LCD Monitor

I like the idea of buying a prebuilt computer as I'm over the tech issues surrounding it. Are there any companies that have good dell like prices w/o included LCD's? AND nothaving the LCD results in some sort of discount?

You could purchase just machines without monitors through dell. Quite honestly, I doubt anything comes close to dell prices after coupons even if a montior is included.

I bought my mom a Dell PC from the Dell outlet without a monitor (she already had a 19" LCD). It was a very good deal but there was a promotion at the time. I believe none of the Dell outlet systems inlcude a monitor.

i'm not a fan of the dell outlet unless the computer are "brand" new and never used, thus not refurb (crapfurbished).

they rate of defects/failure is just as high as any other used machines out there used by anyone.

dell has computers without monitors, but you have to place an order via phone, because the reason to upsell a monitor is very slick business for Dell because they give you the options to chose from, and not the choice of defining more absolute choice - a marketting scheme. they don't want you customizing combo meals unless you already know how to work around it.

it's not uncommon to get a dell machine with a 19" LCD and just selling it off ebay.com, trust me, there are desperate people out there who limit themselves to finding cheap stuff to bid for rather than find other solutions that could save them a few nickels. your target market enTRAY for reselling a 'new' 17"/19" is pretty high on ebay.
