the incence i just bought:
Satya Sai Baba - Nag Champa (Indian)
Shoyeido - Sitting Zen (Japanese)
Scents of Blossum - Aqua (Japanese)

did I make the right decisions? I think i'll like these scents. the Aqua is meant to be just for good smellin, cuz I can't really stand the strong sweet smells (at least for the time incense sticks around in the air). the Nag Champa and Sitting Zen will likely be used in meditation and/or simple relaxation before going natural with salvia, and/or any day that has been stressful and requires me to wind down or get rid of a headache. i really wanted some quality agarwood/aloeswood incense sticks, but they are quite expensive. like... $30-100 just for a pack of sticks, depending on the location of the tree and brand (it looks that way at least). sandalwood I have heard is quite wonderful too in the aiding of meditation and general relaxation purposes, plus slight healing properties.
anyone else know of some real, working incense for similar purposes, that I haven't thought of?

yea I've heard many people love Nag Champa... it's so weird too, its so cheap too compared to other stuff that is supposed to be good. The Sitting Zen was $7.50 or so for a pack of 30 long-burn sticks (2 hour burn time), while the Nag Champa was like $1.49 for a 40g box (probably about 38 sticks).

i'd now have to agree with you. all three of the boxes I got smell wonderful. The Aqua is great just to make the room smell good and/or to cover up other smells. The Sitting Zen smells amazing and burns for 2 hours(!), and it truely does help you relax if you try and do so. It helps calm me. And the Nag Champa.. I didn't try meditating to it, but I lit it while usin the Salvia and it kept my grounded, thats for sure. And 2 days later, I can still smell a tad bit in the form of a unique sweetness that smells amazing.
I'd have to say the Nag Champa is my favorite because it lasts so long. Its just too bad its only coated wood sticks, instead of solid incense. Its not overpowering when burning and sticks around with an amazing smell.

heh my wife loves that stuff. she will get in the bathtub with it going an spend about 2 hours. she always comes out so relaxed and in a good mood. thats usually when i hit her up to buy me a new toy =)
