INCENDIARY ? - AC Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler

Was looking at getting another Freezer 7 Pro last night. Checked out the price on newegg.com and had to do a double take. I purchased a Freezer 7 Pro in Sept 06 for $30 shipped. Damn, supply must be hurting.

Prices are cheaper elsewhere. The only deal here is that NewEgg will bend you over and stick it in for $65.

freezer 7 is like a 25/35 type HSF definitely not worth 65 that more like the kind of price reserved for tuniq tower level of HSF. I egg probably running low on inventory at the time.

Thermalright has at least 2 adapters to mount 775 hsf to 478 mb's. Might work on what you want. I use their through the board screw mounts for 775 wherever possible instead of those goofy screw posts.

Newegg's been raping everyone in terms of pricing lately.

While they have ... they are still better then regular prices at say BestBuy. As they become more and more a household name. That's the only one they need to beat on price to stay profitable.

That IS nuts. I bought in Sept/Oct, from I think provantage for $19.xx +shipping. Have seen it since at most places in the $25 range. $69.99? Are the smoking the pipe? Also, what's wierd is the Chief, which I thought and am pretty sure is a subsidiary of the egg? so why the price difference?

well, luckily I don't purchase too much from the egg since I have to pay sales tax and shipping, where most are no tax, free shipping, making the egg usually higher. Now, for sure, the egg appears to be raising prices.

curt j.

why are people complaining about newegg lately? aside from this newegg is almost always one of the cheapest options around. This heatsink, the price has been going up/down dramatically lately. I got 2 of these for $16.50 each 2 weeks ago, the pricing was $35 for 1, $33 for 2..supply/demand..or something.

Considering my video card i ordered from newegg was $250 from them, and over $400 from compusa..ill continue to use newegg

Neweggs the big guy now. People love hammering the big guy. They do have something weird going on with the pricing there though. Sometimes a price can change like 3 times a day on something.

Its awesome on the 6300. I was running stock on it, was hitting only 2.8ghz at 60c default voltage, when i put on the AC freezer pro 7 I got up to 3.150ghz at default voltage..the kicker of it is at 50c! Pretty impressive change for a cheap cooler like that.

OP, good info to include in a posting like this (for those, like me, who aren't in the know about every HSF 😉 ) is:

All Intel Celeron (Socket 775)
All Intel Pentium 4 (Socket 775)
All Intel Pentium D
All Intel Core 2 Duo
Core 2 Extreme Quad

Keeps us AMD fanboys from wasting any time on the thread, ya know?

Why aren't there more reviews of the Freezer 7 Pro? It the cheapest Core 2 cooler, at least when priced reasonably, and from the reviews that do exist it is at the very least very competitive with the best. Firing squad included some real crap sinks but not the Freezer 7 Pro.

For $65 you might as well get the Tuniq Tower. I do have to wonder if Anand's results for the Tuniq are correct as the number are much cooler then anything else, but it gives it little to no additional overclocking headroom. Doesn't make sense.

My God, that's INSANE. I just bought one 3 weeks ago for $30+shipping.

Newegg is really upping their prices, I think they're getting too big and costs are getting out of control for them.
