Inaccurate low score in 3dMark2000 &2001......

Every time i run the defalt benchmark in 3dMark2000 i get a score around 200. If i check out the details all the fps are extremely low. All the fps test are between 3fps and 30fps. But when the benchmark is actually running the fps in the bottom of screen reads between 50fps and 150fps.
Does anyone know the cause of this problem?

System spec:
Win2k SP1 - directX 8
Nvidia drivers 10.80
AGP fix
And some HotFix for Win2k (It stopped all the crashes)
