Inaccesible boot device after putting in a slave HD in 2k

I had a formatted HD sitting around in two paritions that I wanted to put in this comp as a slave.. I just put it in this computer and set it to slave.. set my system drive to master.. and I get a BSOD on the way into 2k.. Inaccesible boot device.. any ideas why ?

If you are using ATA 100/66 ribbon cable, they are wired for CS (Cable Select.) The end connector is Master and the gray middle one is slave. Use those connectors accordingly and try setting your drive jumpers both to CS.

OK . . . also . . . when you boot with both devices alive, C drive is your old C . . . the new first partition on drive 2 will be D. If you had partitions on your original Master, then everything after C is moved over one and if your boot sequence references anything beyond C it can't find it.
