Actually this window is working fine, but when attemping to send a private message, or reply to one, the window pops up, and then closes almost immediately on it's own. I checked that my popup blocker was off, but that didn't do any good. And of course, it used to work when the Google Pop-blocker was not disabled. I'm trying to think what's different. It's not SP2 because it was working after I installed SP2, at least for awhile. But now, it just pops up and then disappears.

Anyone have any clues? I have a bunch of people waiting for my private response, and I'm appearing to them that I could care less, when actaully, I would answer their message if I was able.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I believe the message window is Java-driven...

be sure you have Java properly installed. This may help, but it doesn't seem like it would be the culprit.

I know I have Java installed correctly. Came across something else weird this weekend. I was at another site that has popup windows and they closed by themselves!! So for me, it looks like it's not just with AT. I have Panicware's Pop-Up Stopper Companion installed and the XP one turned off. In my case, this is a fresh install which is pretty clean, but the first time I've ran SP2. Something weird is going on.

Yes, it could be a JVM (Java Virtual Machine) issue. If you install XP with SP2 integrated, you will NOT get the MS JVM. MS removed their JVM in SP1a (it was not in the original XP, in SP1, and removed in SP1a, and just flat out gone from SP2). You could try doing a search for the Sun JVM (JRE may be the keyword) and load a newer version of that as a possible fix.

I hate to say it but yes I installed the Sun version shortly after my install, Idon't bother with the MS one anymore. I wonder if there is a problem with Panicware's Pop-up Stopper and SP2 because I don't think the version number for that app has been changed in a while and maybe it needs an SP2 fix.

This post should maybe be moved to Tech. Support or something and maybe we'll get more answers...

EDIT: Just checekd there site, they say it's fully compatible. Hmmm....

Woohoo!! I fixed it! I have Adaware Pro which includes Ad-Watch. Turns out Ad-Watch also has a pop-up blocker in it. I figured that out when I turned off Ad-Watch then everything worked. Then went through the options and saw it had a pop-up blocker. Guess I should have looked at that before!

If you're not familar, Ad-Watch is a real time registry and system settings monitor. Good protection again that auto installing spyware crap.
