tekken 3 had me hooked for a while. so did pocket fighter.

Let's see if I can remember that far back!

I remember playing way too much Tekken 2 and one of the NHL hockey games. I think I would give the nod to Tekken 2. Good graphics, good controller response and when you managed to master the 10 hit combos you were unstoppable.

Xenogears by FAR. There are lots of good psx rpgs, but Xenogears beats them all.
