does this require special hardware/specific NIC or does this mean with ANY two NICs i can combine them to get twice the bandwidth on my machine? btw i am on a skool LAN.

I believe the nic's have to support the feature. Also you need a hdd that can handle that level of sustained output.

Wart,

You are on the right track. I don't know if ANY two Nics will work but I know in my work machine I have 2 3com Nics that work in bridged mode. You can get a lot more bandwidth doing this but as to if it is double that is another matter since there is more overhead in splitting data up to go out on different cards.

Does bridged in this scenario mean pretty much shotgunning nics instead of the usual bridging? Im going to be testing out XP soon, thats why I ask. Microsoft terms confuse me :/
