I've tried registry cleaners and things like that, but there must be a simpler way of just going into the registry and deleting these things?

I've already unchecked them and even uninstalled some of these things (bargainbuddy, damn u kazaa), but they remain in the msconfig startup, just not checked. Any idea's on how to manually do it or software that will let u choose which to keep and delete?

My problem isn't just with kazaa, there's a couple other things in there that I want to delete as well

The reason why I mentioned Ad-aware is because it's registary scan is pretty extensive. You also mention that you have unchecked the startup items and have chosen selective startup and yet the problem persists. Ad-aware is free, I suggest you give it a try.

o0o, thanks. I used that plus regcleaner and got rid of some of them.

However I still have some random things inside there, including some blank lines. The blank lines show nothing under "startup item" or "command", but under location show software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run. I regedited there and there's nothing there besides what should be. regcleaner and startupcpl both dont give me the option of deleting those, along with a couple of others. Any ideas?

damn, still there :(

would it have anything to do with me dual booting win98 and xp, ie should I check currentversion/microsoft/winnt/run instead of microsoft/windows/run or whatever
