In WinXP, is it possible to share a drive and all the folders in the drive?

i always thought that if you shared the root drive, all folders were considered shared...

im hoping youre not trying to share youre entire main drive, and that its just some media/data drive or some such, but im pretty sure by sharing the drive itself all folders become available

I'm only trying to share a second hard drive that has only data on it.

It seems that I have to enable sharing on each folder separately.

Well to fix it I disabled then re-enabled file sharing for the drive. Then I disconnected then remapped the drive....now it works.

I am wondering if I just clicked "OK" instead of apply the first time I went through the sharing process.

Thanks for the input.

On Winxp I don't think that shares "everything" I think stuff under c:\documents and settings\<username> doesn't get shared.... maybe a few others. You may have to add some folders if you want that stuff. -TAL :)

It's already shared. The share is just hidden. Do start | run and type this:

\\<your computer name here>\<your drive letter here>$

See??
