In WinME. How do you remove the _Restore folder stored on the Root Drive?

I'm not using the Restore facility in WinME and want to get rid of the folder on my C:\ drive. I have already disable the Restore function in the System Properties.

Just hate seeing things on the drive that I just don't want/need....

Help!

😉

How big is the file, if it's small like in KB's I wouldn't even bother?

EDIT

NM, I'll boot up my girl friends computer and look at the size.

You must disable "System Restore" - I am away from my PC and don't remember how at this point - look in the options/help for info about how to disable it ..

PS the size of this folder is about 75% of your Windows folder - it is HUGE!

His already done that. 🙂 Now he want's to get rid of the folder, since he's not using it.

Thanx Nox

TechMaster I've tried to delete the folder but all I get is Access denied.....G'damn...It says it's a Hidden file under properties, but no matter if I get rid of all the properties it still says Access Denied....

What if I delete the registry key?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VxDMon

🙂

I won't recommend messing up with the registry....

I have deleted mine from my Win2K (dual boot with WinME and Win2k)

You can try booting into safe mode or from a startup disk run "attrib -h-s-r" (read attrib help ->"attrib -?&quot😉 and delete the folder from DOS mode...
