in windows xp pro how does one get to a true dos prompt to flash the bios

there's no true dos in xp.
you need to make a ms dos boot floppy by inserting a floppy, right clicking the floppy in my computer & choose make ms dos floppy or words to that effect.
this will give you a basic boot floppy to which you add your bios files the boot up from the floppy & flash.
 
dont know if its teh same for XP but in 2K i just restarted in safe mode with DOS prompt and did it from there and it worked fine
