...and even weirder, has a Windows 98 logo and says 'Windows 98' in the bottom right corner.
Usually when I open the WINNT folder it displays a warning about deleting system files and makes me click on 'Show Files', but now the 'Show Files' is gone and that damn Win 98 logo has appeared.
If there is a way to disable the 'Show Files' click-through then I bet I could see my files, and just live with the Win 98 logo.
Also, I have not had Win 98 on my drive since before the last time I formatted.
Any ideas?

Any ideas anyone?
I did a full virus scan- none.
How do I disable having to click on 'Show Files' in the WINNT folder in order to see my files?
THANK YOU

Use DOS: dir ;)

j/k.
Isn't that a global setting? I've had all sorts of problems with how Windows handles different views for different folders (it doesn't work how I want it to :( )

I have no idea how you got a Win98 logo there?? Did you turn off the "view folders as web-pages" thingy?

I just did, and now I can see my files, Thanks! I think this is a good excuse to try a third-party file explorer utility...
