Just because you're not of a particular subculture doesn't mean you don't know the slang. How many white people have figured out what "Fo shizzle" means vs. how many people that would use it in a non-satirical sense.

I'm not sure that's the context Fran Drescher used it in in those Old Navy commercials.

Subtitles work great for that. In fact there is an audio option for to subtitle just the gypsies lines. Oh, and there is one line that isn't translated, the subtitle says something like funny, like (can't understand) or something like that. 😛
