If you're in the UK DON'T a buy a Sony Vaio pro. If it breaks you're going to be MONTHS without a laptop!

I ordered a custom build Sony Vaio Pro from the Sony UK web store. The custom build ultrabook cost £1500 ($2400). Sony have had this laptop longer than I have!

Paying for a top of the line machine, you'd hope for top of the line service but it's been nothing short of hellish. I had the screen fail - which is fair enough, these thing happen. So I sent it in for repair

- they have no parts to fix it
- they won't ever replace a machine that's custom built

It took us several weeks to get this clearly spelt out. Weeks were I didn't have a laptop and couldn't do my work! Can you afford to go weeks without your work machine?

I agreed to a refund on the 18th last month. Despite chasing this up, I've had no word since. This is a disgracefully long time! The customer service department in the UK is broken.

If you're considering purchasing a Vaio in the UK. I would think very carefully about it and do your research.

I returned Pro. Wifi reception is useless. Glad I did now as better alternatives are out.

Many reviews around the internet say the same thing... Sony is terrible at repairs time-wise and customer service wise.

I don't have a Sony laptop, so I can't comment personally.

That isn't good news. I remember having a HDD fail on a Dell laptop and they had a replacement drive to me the next day.
