Well... not yet.

I just saw a very strange, burning chuck come from the sky, do a few twirls, and disappear. It left a crazy glowing trail. It was far southwest of the phx area and covered some serious ground.

If anyone comes across any news of this post it!

crazy, man

We watched it from the roof earlier tonight. Very cool indeed. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've seen it. Vanderberg is about 100 north of us and the rockets seem to come this way. When the trail first appeared it was incredibly bright and the rainbow thingy inside the giant 2 was huge.

A grand spectacle in the evening sky created by a spacebound rocket delighted stargazers and frightened the uninformed across hundreds of miles in the southwestern United States on Thursday.

I was doing a contract in Vegas in fall of 2002. I was walking the strip back to my hotel and everybody was looking at a streak in the sky. Get back and sure enough they tested one of those missiles. Cool thing to see however.

I saw it last night while outside on the barbecue...at first I thought it was a shooting star, or something burning up in our atmosphere...but the erratic path it took started to make me think that our alien overlords had finally arrived to destroy the Earth.

Most Vandy-Land launches are South - into a Polar Orbit. any take place in the late afternoon, and into sundown.
Always spectacular. Lived in Lompoc for 4 years & went through the MX Test launch Operations from '81 -85 & Shuttle Launch Compes at SLC-6.
Quite a Spacle Launch Complex.

I once saw a nice liftoff from Vandenberg while leaving Magic Mountain. Cool. Sometimes I catch a very low on the horizon peak at a White Sands launch. But this latest one was the best :)

My dream is to see a large launch in Florida up close.
