I was watching it the other day, do you think Bill Murray arranged for those kids to throw snowballs at them when they were making the snowman?
 
wow, what a random ass thing to say, i never thought about it

by his reaction, it's hard to tell if he asked them to throw the snowballs, or if it had happened 300 times before
 
IIRC, the original script had him stuck in that day for hundreds or thousands of years. So he doubtless knew everything that would happen down to the second.

On the DVD, Harold Ramis states that the original idea was for him to live February 2nd for about 10,000 years. Later he says that Phil probably lived the same day for about 10 years.
