In the market for a new TV...

I would like to stay under $250 for a Flat-screen TV if it's possible. It would be nice to have S-video. I care mostly about picture quality, and not about the sound.

For the last two years, I've been watching TV on a tiny 19" TV/VCR combo that my roommate got for $20 with a pretty decent home theater system (Paradigm speakers through a Yamaha receiver). It's about time to upgrade.

Thanks.

Well, my DVD player has an s-video out. I have a decent S-video cable that I purchased awhile ago as well. That's why. But if it makes little difference, I'm willing to go with whatever's good.

I bought a KV27FS120 for my room (Sony Wega) and I love it. I had a 20 inch Wega before, but I like the increased size. The TV has one component input, one s-video, and two composites. I bought a svideo switcher since I need three different svideo inputs. Most people hate sony here and recommend panasonics or toshibas, but I love my TV.

Obviously theres always better, but this TV is  IMO
I paid $300 for mine.

Thanks.

What's the major difference between a $250 TV and a $300 TV? Picture? Sound? Features? Are these differences substantial? I'm just curious. Thanks.

I saw a Daewoo flat screen tv at best buy w/ s-video, component, and composite inputs, maybe coaxial too. Looked decent for ~$200

I am also in the market for a 27" nice TV, but it must hve the speakers underneath as my tv stand is only 27.3" wide

I can't really contribute in any way to this thread, but I'm dying to tell someone I picked up a Sony 55" KDF-55WF655 for only $2100 with Circuit City delivery.. It was $3200 a month or so ago, now it's $3000.

I haven't gotten it delivered yet because my dad and I have been widening an area for the TV to go.. It's going above the fireplace... It'll look great.. I'll make a thread on it eventually because it took a good bit of work over the past week....

No one cares... But I thought I'd pretend someone did 🙂
