How about something a bit more unique like this?

'08 Porsche 911 Carrera S Kompressor
http://inventory.racperformance.com/web/used/Porsche-911-2008-Dallas-Texas/884680/

I usually check out the inventory at RAC every 6 months or so to drool and dream. They have some very exotic and unique options.

'99 Viper GTS?
http://inventory.racperformance.com/web/used/Dodge-Viper-1999-Dallas-Texas/959095/

The more I look at that place the more I want to own one. Like the place itself not the cars. OMG

Edit: Just realized you are in Dallas area so you could head over to check these vehicles out in person

that place has some great stuff..

It even has my next purchase in stock!

Dayum!

I might have to go test drive that one. It's quite a bit over my price range but just WOW! My wife(who loves top gear)would kill me if I drove up in that and she says "what did THAT cost" and I say "uh, uh, $%$$% but isn't it beautiful"
BOOM headshot :'(

Wish they had more pictures of the 3.9L conversion 993 turbo they appear to be doing. That car to me is my moby dick...

OP if you baller up and buy that car I would forever consider your title to be "the man".

Says you on weight killing the fun factor ;)

Usually the 'pony' cars are in the 3000ish range...it's when you get into 3800+ that the cars really turn to pigs.

I had a 2750lb 240sx and have a 3400ish lb M3 now. Don't really feel that extra 700lbs.

Have you seen Youtube video where the Magnum Ferrari could not even keep up with the current generation of Toyota Camry? Top Gear has few episodes where they prove that old exotics are slower than most of the recent sedans.

So what?

Every car doesnt have to be the fastest thing in the world. I spent the three days driving a 2004 mustang cobra this week and I would still pick a Ferrari 308 over a mustang cobra if I was offered one for free.

I know its hard for youngins to understand but there is more to drivers car than just speed.

If you want something fairly rare but still BA, a used Maserati would be a nice choice. Although, I'm going to stick w/ my 911 turbo as first choice. The Aston Martin or Maserati would be a close second. It's tough being rich...

I'll assume your intention is to get something a bit exciting:

A6 is a great car but boring as hell. S6 would be same, but faster.

Last-gen (E60) BMW M5 is a special thing, but you might not like the gearbox.

Mercedes C63 AMG is a kick ass sedan. One of the best sounding cars on earth IMHO. Other Benz cars are pretty boring, but the E63 which I think might be too expensive?

I love the new Mustangs, a Boss is such an attractive proposition. It's a car I'd consider long and hard, so full of character and has great handling.

Other than that, a Porsche Boxster could be a nice, relatively economical way to have fun, with a drop top. A Cayman would be same with no folding roof and slight more edge to it. Don't be misled by the performance figures, driving a thoroughbred sports car like the Porsches is different than a very powerful sedan.

And of course there's the 911, $65k can probably get you a 2009-2008 car, with extended warranty you'd be all set.

I'd avoid buying exotics or anything you can't afford as new. A (non-Turbo) 911 would be probably as exotic as I'd go.

I say go for this.
I recommend getting a 2008 in interlagos blue, probably about 45k miles on it by the time the F10 is out...I mean spring... (Wife says I can't get the F10 till I get rid of the E60.):whiste:

Time for a new wife. Nobody tells me what toys I can or can't have.

:awe:

I've met resistance with things, like going with a projector setup in the main room instead of a standard TV and entertainment system. Until I showed examples of it being professionally built in and wall mounted and not some ghetto slide projector on the table with a fold out screen crap, etc. Then she was *all* for it once she saw it. Women just need to be shown the light.

Really liking the new AMG C63, I started looking at that online yesterday. Comes in coupe or sedan and the 451HP VS sounds great except for the gas guzzler tax:(.

Boxter or Z4. If you are looking to go a little crazy and have nice weather, go all out and get a convertible, IMO.

More weight, More flex... Boo!

Not with those cars that started life as a roadster from birth. Esp if there isn't even a coupe.

A Boxster convertible is heavier than a... Boxster... convertible... wait wut?

Boxster has no flex whatsoever. It's like driving a brick but on a rail road.
