Yeah, 2 Pads and a game for $40. Really good pads too, and the game is definitely worth playing, but perhaps not quite the overall package that the DDR games are.

I'd actually say that the game has more than the DDR games. It's only missing an edit mode, which I only used on DDR to make steps that were hard; something not needed in this game.

Are the "In The Groove" pads compatible with other games too? Looks like a nice present for my sister but I'd buy a set too if they work with other games. Plus maybe attach to PC (DIY hardware adapters) to play the Linux DDR clone?

Thanks! I'm ordering tonight...

edit: Awesome post too. I've wanted to get the DDR-type pads forever but I've been putting it off. What better time than the Christmas when most people eat too much and sit around too much? This should be a hit.

Definitely. I've enjoyed ITG much more than the DDR games just because all the songs have a nice beat to move to. Mmm... queen of light expert.

The PS2 version is also very newbie friendly, with a whole new set of steps for every song for beginners, unlike the arcade with a single song made for new people ^_^

The two pads deal is great, as I solely play double, which is an awesome mode if anyone has not tried it. I'm not sure how good the pads with the deal are though, as I play on metal pads, so double may be a bit harder without something to keep the pads together.

I got the two pad bundle for $44 shipped. Hopefully it will be as fun as DDR and I can make an attempt at doubles mode (haven't played DDR in a while, though =/).

In the Groove is pretty fun. I'm more of a DDR player and I have to admit that ITG on Expert is a lot harder than the hardest DDR song on Heavy.
