Nope, they have similar signs since at least September in London (I've only been here since the last September)

god I'd love to steal that sign /drool

but to the topic... not really. just in terms of the visual style, the sign reminds me of soviet russia propoganda and Brazil, but as far as the actual content goes, I don't think it's a big deal. we've had them in NYC since 9/11.

It's very art deco style. The side profiles of the figures and the woman holding what appears to be the red flag definitely is Soviet/Communist inspired. Soviet nostalgia is now supposed to be chic in Russia and Eastern Europe.
