A Russian man who cut himself in half with a circular saw is now recovering in hospital in the Russian city of Volgograd, the NTV television channel reported Thursday. Doctors have described him as a unique case.

I expect it was some kind of chainsaw, and not a circular saw. The article says that a circular saw was used, but says (falsely) that circular saws are used to fell trees. Chainsaws are used to fell trees, and circular saws (all that I've seen) are fixed and vertical
