In search of software to thoroughly test a hard drive

Anybody got any idea where I can find some software to totally check out a hard drive to make sure it's fine?

Hey, salvador, long time no see... What brand drive do u have? If it's the Maxtor, u could probably use the IBM SMART util. to monitor its status, but for through test, u might want to just use Norton util. BTW, r u going to the AMD thing tomorrow? if u don't know what I'm talking about, then nm. and how have u been lately? (PMs full, comp kept crashing when I try to save them)
