In search of a utility to fix my boot sector.

I think my boot sector got messed up. My startup now hangs at the "Verifying DMI Pool Data" screen. I want a utility that will allow me to boot up from whatever partition I choose (remember I cannot load windows, so this utility must be bootable from a usb flash drive).

are you using windows xp? you can boot into command console with the CD and use the fixmbr command

Thanks. fixmbr didn't do what I wanted, since all it does is write a master boot record, not fix my boot sectors.
