i would like a quite hd with good performance i want to store ripped dvd's on it and games. what hd would you recommend? plz provide link (newegg if possible)
 
If you don't go with SCSI, then the best for you would be one of the BIG 250-400GB from Seagate and MAxtor that have the new 16MB buffer and NCQ (if it ever really get's used)
 
The older Seagate Barracuda 7200.7's were relatively quiet. So were the Samsung Spinpoints. Unfortunately, the newer Seagate Barracuda 7200.8's are louder than their predecessors.
