I've had reccomended to me a Hitachi 750 gig HDD but after reading recent reviews on New Egg I do not want to order that particular drive.

Anyone recommend me one in the $100 range? Nothing smaller than 500g, 7200 rpm

There is no reason to spend the extra to get a WD Black if you're just looking for a solid drive.

Seagate, Samsung, WD Blue are all solid choices for mainstream drives. Just look at the Best Sellers on Newegg and choose one that's in your size/price range and has a good egg rating.
